Why We Do This
Being a 3-time cancer survivor myself, I know the toll that constant hospital visits, chemo treatments, and sickness took on me as a full-grown man.
But walking into MD Anderson and seeing children fighting the same fight that I was fighting was heartbreaking to say the least. You can't motivate a child the same way an adult is motivated.
They don't have kids to raise, homes to take care of, or bills to pay. So, I thought to myself—what can we do that can help motivate a child to fight even just one more day?
We decided that we would focus our efforts on the mental, emotional, and motivational part of fighting childhood illness. Christmas is a hard time for the parents of sick kids—a lot of times money is tight, and their family is not able to be in their own homes because the child is too sick to leave the hospital.
So, we made it our mission to bring Christmas to them.
